Training

At First Communities, our employees are our most important asset. Each team member is a critical piece to the success of the company and our clients. This success hinges on education, preparation and support.

Training courses and learning opportunities include:

First Communities University - This web-based program is an educational training tool allowing each employee 24 hours/7 days per week access to required and recommended classes. Topics range from introductory courses including Fair Housing, Leasing 101 and customer service to more advanced subjects such as marketing, mentorship, operations, advanced leasing and maintenance related material.

Classroom Training - Frequent in-person classes are held at our home office as well as in each of our markets to ensure employee fundamentals are mastered. These classes include software systems training as well as skills classes such as leasing, marketing, maintenance and leadership. This classroom style training encourages active role-playing practice as well as in-depth job-related scenario sessions.

First Responder Mentorship Program – As associates join our team, they are partnered with a mentor to provide one-on-one training to start their career journey at First Communities with the support they need to be successful in their role. This mentorship continues throughout the associate’s tenure which is designed to be motivational and constructive to achieve the most positive long-term results.

Industry Designations/Seminars – First Communities is a proud partner of the National Apartment Association and Institute of Real Estate Management and their local chapters. We encourage all employees to continue their education and receive the highest designations in their respective fields (CPM, CAM, CAPS, NALALP).
